You got something to work with there.
Are those 8 lug axles?
Can't beat a Dana 24 transfer case IMO, (the gear to gear pretty much makes them "bulletproof").
I've got one that I've owned for 20+ years and never been opened up!

Thanks guys, it's got 8 lugs and drums all around, the cab mounts came from http://www.crosscanadaparts.com/cgi-bin ... /index.htm
just log in as a guest and surf away, lots to see there.
Ok so the plan is drive train and ever thing but body work first, Spring will be the start of a cummins 12V install, cab mounts, front disc set up and any other gremlins hiden in there. I have a good friend that has agreed to do the body and paint, his work has been featured on Discovery channels Biker Build off. He said my creative input ends after choosing colors! Here's my dirt bike tank (used 2 seasons) that he did for me in an afternoon. Of course pictures don't do it justice
New plan, after trying to help uboughtwhat? figure out what engine he has curiosity got me thinking about mine. When I bought the truck I did a quick check of the stroke to make sure is was not a 360, it was over 3.5" so I stopped there, the plan was to go diesel so I only was looking to sell the engine. After checking the VIN I found that it came with the 300 6cyl. which it clearly is not. So today I checked the stroke with a digital caliper and got 3.985"!! Heads are D2TE AA with 16 bolt exhaust ports, So now I've found a 428 living under the hood! I thought that doing a smoke show in 3rd from a dead stop was a little odd for a truck like this. No matter what I'm keeping the engine but now I'm on the fence about if it'll stay in the truck. Here's some more pics, dig the GM aircleaner, It must have come with the propane system.
What is it with bump crews and propane kits (mine had one too) I am looking forward to watching your build as I am slowly starting on rebuilding my crew.

I suspect most of the crews were sold to utilities who were major users of propane conversions in the 70's and 80's.The later systems are better but the early propane conversions were a royal PITA to get started in cold weather.
Well it turns out 428s are worth their weight in gold around here, if I sell this engine it will finance the entire cummins conversion, and mabey a door or two, I love bumps
Here's some inside shots
Well not too much new yet, but after considering the time and cost of all the rust repairs I've purchased a parts truck from Cali. Some of you may have seen this one, transporting will be a bit pricey but still less than repairing mine. I plan to use the cab, doors and box from the donor than make a trailer with my box and the donor frame, unless anyone wants the donor frame (free). So once it arrives she'll be stripped, blasted and painted before assembly. While my frame is bare I'll install the 6bt cummins. Hopfully it will be road worthy by the end of summer.
