I have a 1971 Ford F 250 and am contemplating repainting. One thing I notice is the rust issues at the several body seams on the bed and cab.
Any suggestions on how to treat these areas to ensure I don't get bubbles after the paint goes on?
I'm guessing grinding/scraping off as much as I can, maybe sandblasting and then POR 15.
Thoughts?

Good luck. Not sure if anything really works long term... besides welding the seams somehow...

I took my lead from the earlier posts on this topic and tried my plunge cutter/oscillating multi-tool on the seams on the bed. Worked GREAT! got into the cracks and crevices and found the source of bubbling....there was a lot of rust in there. Once I get it cleaned out a bit more, I'm going to use POR15 next, sand, then body filler/seam sealer, then primer and paint. That tool was made for this kind of work.fijidad wrote:I just found this thread from earlier in the year....some pretty good ideas: http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopi ... =7&t=78693
