1971 F250 Explorer Special color mystery

Post by youngbodean70F250 »

I have a 1971 F250 Camper Special Explorer Special. I has original metallic blue paint with 13,800 miles. All I want is to find a tiny bottle of touch up but can't find the color. I know Ford called this "medium metallic blue" in the explorer brochure, but nowhere in any literature does my color code "B" translate. It looks just like the 1970 mustang med. met. blue, but it would be great to see the proof. That code would be "Q". Truck was made in 03/71. Is the discrepancy with the color code just because the Explorer Special was a mid-year thing? Any help would be great.
