I have searched all over the net, cant find any good info.
Would a Crankcase Evacuation system that vents Crank fumes into the exhaust work on a Daily driver? Will it work at lower RPMs? Being that its primarily for dragracing will it wear out quickly? I am asking because I want to get rid of my PCV valve.
Thanks fellas.

re: Question for the Drag racers
Before the PCV, there was the "Road Draft" system, basically a tube to the atmosphere. Pretty much what you are going to do, with the exception of using the exhaust to "draw" the crankcase pressure out.
Why eliminate the PCV??

Just doesnt seem beneficial to be putting those fumes into my fuel/air mix.

sounds like a good plan, i wonder if the fumes do anything to the mixture?

re: Question for the Drag racers
Don't see where the "fumes" would hurt the air fuel mixture. Drag racres do it to keep from building crankcase pressure, which hurts ring seal. Remember , we' re talking about 8500+ rpm motors here.
Besides, if there is that much coming out of the crankcase vent thru the pcv system, i think you have other issues to worry about.

It's not a good idea. The PCV is supposed to recycle the burnt gases that get past the rings and valve seals. In fact it's drawing the oil laden air through the motor. On a friends 454 Chevelle the header vacuum would draw the oil out of the motor over 30 miles or so. Took a while to figure that one out.
Also if you run Total seal gapless rings they recommend a 1/16" restrictor port in the PCV because there is less gas getting by the rings.
