p/s pump bracket

Post by OldRedFord »

For the those of you that swapped a 460 into your bump, what power steering pump and bracket did you use?

I was looking at the L&L website and according to them I need a adapter or something.

The L and L kits are designed to 'adapt' existing parts to work. That is, for example you can use their adapter mounts with your existing FE engine stands, to save you from having to find the proper 460 engine stands.

In this case, if you've got (for example) a 360 with power steering and want to 'adapt' the existing pump to bolt to the 460, you can use their adapter. However, virtually all 460 engines came with power steering...finding the correct bracket shouldn't be any problem. If you can't find the correct bracket, and/or you've got an extra $125 burning a hole in your pocket, you can get their bracket.

Fittings on the steering gear wont be a issue, right?

I was just worried about clearance.
I guess I should have been more specific.
