re: 71 F250 Paint
First I took off the home made bumper (must of weighed 150-175 lbs), then the toolbox (full of tools and spare parts), then the 2 spare tires and holders. The box must have been removed by the PO sometime as it was missing 2 of the bolts. I just wire brushed the threads and soaked them with some penetrating oil. 5 came off no problem, but one just spun so I used my largest vise grip on top and broke pretty easy. Then I removed the tail lights. It didn't weigh as much as I thought it would, which made my back happy.

Yes, 8 bolts, and in my case 20 or 30 lbs of mud and pine needles.

Now that you're a pro, do you have any idea about the difficulty removing the cab?

Never did that. I'm just going to paint the outside and the door frames. Thats a little more ambitious than I want to be. Maybe the next project.

Started on the cab today! Spent all morning sanding and prepping, all afternoon painting. I got to admit I cheated.
I painted the door jams and around the windshield with a rattlecan, I couldn't figure out how to get all the little nooks and crannys with a roller and a foam brush left marks. Here's some more pics.

More pics. I got 4 coats on the top and sides, spray canned another coat on the door jams, and rolled 1 coat on the front cowl. This afternoon I'll roll on another 2 coats on the top and back and should be done! I promise no more baby pics and no more pics of my pants falling off.

Got the windshield and rear window back in this evening. Man what a job! We wrestled with the windshield for an hour or so until I gave up and searched the site for an old post that told how do it right, went easy after that.
Tomorrow we'll switch beds with the trailer and hopefully get started on painting the box. After that all thats left is the doors, I got all new rubber for them. We might need some help with the wing vents, never done those before. If we do, you'll hear from me.

oh yeah its best to install it with the runbber on the windeow and with a small diameter rope lacking a small rope just using hook tools and rolling the rubber in over the edge will work.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

Yes it is! Was alot easier. Today We got the beds switched and bolted down. Now it looks like a Christmas truck.
I'll take some pics this evening when it cools down alittle. I was hoping to start painting the box tomorrow but someone called and told me the walleye are biting like crazy at the lake, then I remembered I am on vacation so...
