Wow! I can't help but marvel at your fabricating and welding skill. I do have a question though. Are you going to be able to legally drive that thing on the road once its finished?

Why wouldn't I be able to?

I remember back in the early 80's when they first started implementing bumper laws, (seemed like Va. was the worse).
Creating sub-frames to lower bumper height is a lot of work!
Your truck is looking awesome by the way.

Yep, I had a '68 Cougar sitting on a '72 bronco frame and got hassled by the man... It had 3" round pipe bumpers 27" off the ground and they didn't like it like that...
Didn't mean to rain on anyone's parade bringing up bumper heights, but it is something to be aware of. Also, some states have been cracking down on headlight height, so if the bumpers don't get you, lights will. Seen a fair number of trucks with what look like plow truck lights mounted under the bumper to bring a truck back into compliance.
I carry a tape measure and a copy of the law in my glove box.
Funny thing to me is I've been given plenty of mud flap and bumper height tickets, but never had a seat belt ticket. None of my bumps have ever had seatbelts.

I'm sure every state's different, but MN law states "All vehicles made in the 1968 model year and there after are required to have seatbelts". Funny considering the average person can't tell the difference between a 67 and a 72.
so if you in a legaly tall/low enough 4x4 wether you can see with em or not they limit the heighth of the lights?
seem they'd want your lights where you could use them.

I don't want to give em a heart-attack. That is what would happen if I answered the door in the buff. Heck it almost scares me to death when I step out of the shower and look in the mirror.~Mancar1~

I've been pulled over more than my share (have very few tickets though) and IF a cop notices I'm not wearing a belt I tell him they were an option when the truck was made and mine didn't have them.
Only one officer, a real nice older guy new the exact year and law and called me on my BS. I explained to him why I choose no belt over a lap belt and why I drive a truck that goes through things as opposed to crumpling up. I like my fuel tank in the cab and non-ABS brakes.
Well it has been a bit slow going.... the whole late model hub and rotor combination didn't need to be so difficult. To make a long story short.... I had a late model big stud hub on one side and an early small hole hub on the other and didn't realize it. Oh well.
Finished installing inner seals and carrier bearings.... reset the lash and now I'll get after that cone shaped pin on the knuckles, got to find me a big ass cheater pipe!
And now it is time for one of these......
'69 Ford Cummins Crew Cab... Built 6BT main & head studs, ported & oringed head, springs, Ti retainers, marine cam, tweaked P7100, 4K gov kit, NV4500 w/1.375" input, Southbend 3600# DD clutch, NP271 w/SYE, D60 HP front, high steer, 16" coilovers & 4-link, D80 w/disc rear, 4.10's & LSD, spinning 38" x 14.fiddy's on classic slots..... more coming!
On another note..... Those 16.5" slot mags might be up for sale Since going to 9/16" wheel studs these wheels will have to be drilled to fit! I'm looking for a company that can do this down here in CA.... Sacramento to San Francisco area. Anyone have anything like this done before?
