Dont eat yellow snow.....
ripped the bump stop bolt right off trying to get it out... thought I wasnt going to get it but ended up sacraficing a socket to get it out and save the knuckle. All that NY rust.... got the newer hubs with the 9/16" studs vrs the 79 1/2" studs. Pulling the knuckles this weekend and start cleaning it and start putting together. Having a problem though finding a good set of 86-91 front brake calipers form a D60.. so that will be a hold up.

Im going crossover 8" or 10" lift but will be putting dual shock mounts into the top of the leaf spring hanger (if all goes well) here is what im thinking....I also want to do the ubolts from the buttom with nuts on top (with below)
I can understand wanting to do that but how do you intend on allowing for the inner U-bolt to be mounted with the ribbing on the bottom of the housing? Please don't say you are going to notch it....
Got Ford?

hum.. they say it will slip if not notched (dont want to notch housing ). Might just then stick with the original setup and put the shock mount on it like the above. I dont like the stock setup one of the holes is already oval..
Arg.. the rust.. ripped off the head of another bolt on the bottom king pin cap. Will cut off the cap and hope 1/4" or so of the bolt should be left, weld on another socket....
It's only one bolt left, can you spin it off of the rest of that bolt or is the plate recessed into the housing to where it can't spin? I don't know anything about the front axle.
