Accelerator linkage seal to firewall
I am looking for info on the accelerator pedal linkage and the way it seals or is sealed to the firewall. Attached is a pic of the opening in the fire wall (1 1/2” wide and 1” high) - I want to know, is there a rubber gasket that is used or is sealed another way. When I torn the truck down there was no sealant or rubber gasket.

Re: Accelerator linkage seal to firewall
Am surprised i didn't remember this, (as I had mine out a time or two) but from the schematic there isn't a gasket.
I'm assuming or guessing it used the permagum/dum dum/play dough type putty to seal to the firewall.
I'd use that comfortable knowing it would stop any water at all from entering the cab.
3M has a brand name for the same material but not sure of it.![Sad :(](./images/smilies/icon_sad.gif)

Thanks for the info, that’s what I was finding on another website, but I wasn’t sure if it was correct.

Re: Accelerator linkage seal to firewall
I just pulled whats left of mine off yesterday. It was a soft putty similar to what is used to seal off pipes and electric lines coming into a house. Thats what I plan on using to seal mine back up
