So I am trying to add a second battery to my truck, I need help. Have you installed a second battery or a sound system in your truck? What type of battery and/or alternator have you installed?
Here's what I have setup in my truck.
1: Pioneer DEH-S4010BT Receiver (200 watts)
2: Pioneer 6-1/2" TS-G650 Speakers (300 watts)
2: JBL Club-5501 Amplifiers (1,300 watts)
2: Kicker 12" 43CVR124 Subwoofers (800 watts)
I still need to install a capacitor.
She has an OE replacement alternator I got from AutoZone and she is running just fine. The sound system is just killing the battery fast. If I don't turn the truck ON, in about two hours she won't start up again.
If possible, message me on Facebook (faster response time) at, https://www.facebook.com/Hardstyler95 or email me at QSAUnited@gmail.com, thanks!

Re: Technical Support Needed
I'd go with a 130A alternator for parallel batteries since the old 45 or 60 amp models barely keep everything running (fan, wipers, lights) at idle. You can buy a second battery mount for the other fender and modify it to mount correctly. Per cabling, just connect batteries positive to positive and negative to negative.
Also install a decent voltmeter so you can monitor the system. The factory gauge isn't reliable.

I found a 200amp aternator, but it is literally a few bucks away from $400.00. That's a little too much. I do plan on doing a restomod on her, because she's going to be a tribute truck to our armed forces.Ranchero50 wrote:I'd go with a 130A alternator for parallel batteries since the old 45 or 60 amp models barely keep everything running (fan, wipers, lights) at idle. A ton of 2k era Fords used 130's stock. Just find the one that works and wire it up correctly.

These guys have a decent reputation. https://www.dbelectrical.com/products/a ... -6270.html
Youll just have to figure out mounting and pulley configs. Summit Racing also has a large variety and configs.

Re: Technical Support Needed
Gotcha guys! Highly appreciate the info!!! I do plan on putting a 2015 Ford Mustang Coyote 5.0 in her, and then the fun begins. She already has police lights installed in her too.
Keep on rockin' FORDward!
