Hey you had a pile of stuff in your garage to look thru, if it turns up great, if not I'm sure I can find one somewhere.
This headliner is kind of neat but if it needs trimming and mods to the trim I don't know?? I did send the people that make Highliner an email and asked if what I see on the internet is valid or not. Will see what they say or if they even knew about the issues.
Edit: They got back to me and said they were not aware of any issues, so we will see on installation.
The Painless wiring kit is nice for sure but I did find the switches a little on the poor quality side, so you properly went the right route with yours. I need to keep in mind I did get this with the truck so really not that bad. I also sent them an email on what I have found with the missing wires, will see what their reply is there also.

I posted this in the interior section but thought it should follow here as well.
Well I made a speaker bracket to fit my 6x9 in the same config as the original.

It went in like it was meant to but.........
the speaker is deeper than the original by 1/2" I guess because the radio would not go in.

So now I need to find a 6x9 speaker that is only 2.5" deep.

O bummer man! That set up looks so good. I always wondered about a 6x9 there. I just used the original speaker...

I've always worried about that when dealing with under dash speakers. This may sound a little funny but for that same reason I've always just had my stock speaker rebuilt. Yeah, the audio might not sound as great as a new speaker but I usually when I'm building older cars, modern sound systems are not a priority to me. I like to enjoy the sound of the motor and the drive.

Hey if I had the original type speaker it would be going in but the truck didn't come with it. Are all 6x9 or 6x8 speakers built with the same depth? I have been looking and that is the one dimension they never seem to give. If I can't score something to go in there then I will just use the overhead speakers in the head liner for now.

The speaker stop me from doing that side of the dash so I went to the drivers and finished all that off and installed the cluster and new wheel/horn ring.

I checked the neutral switch and it worked both in park and neutral but my back up light contacts for some reason don't make contact on the switch , $60 bucks for that switch..wow!

For a speaker, have you thought about two little ones? I’m planning to put in 2 x 3.5” little guys (Rockford Fosgate Punch P132). Plan to mount them on some MDF, and fab up a bracket. They are about 1.5” deep after mounting, and 1/2” above the mounting surface.

I’ve heard of other guys doing this with success, and not sure if it helps you, but worth considering.

Thanks Steve, still trying to see if the 6x9 can work, I'll try sticking the radio in first that may give me enough clearance, I have a couple Ford buddies trying to see if they have a original speaker for me. If all this fails I may just go with the 4 in the headliner or go with the smaller ones like you said.

Got side tracked getting ready for Christmas so not much done on the truck today but got some stainless trim polished.

Thanks Paul, I haven't had any luck tracking down any others so I would take one for sure and if I can't clean it up, just get it re-chromed. What's one too do!
Edit: sent you a PM, I found one.......in my parts! I need to go see an optometrist these eyes are missing way too many things these days.
