door belt weatherstrip questions HELP!

Post by Bryan_Tenn »

My body guy has stripped all the glass runs & belt weatherstrip out of my doors & tells me to order some.

I've been ordering most stuff so far from Mac's. Their catalog shows that 67-72 glass runs are all the same but says clips not included. Can someone tell me what the clips are or a part#?

My biggest issue is the belt weatherstripping. 67-71 is different from 71 (from serial# K40,001) -72. My truck is a 72 but my doors were trash so I bought these doors a few months back & have no idea what year they are.

Is there a big difference in this weatherstripping? Just wondering if I'm overstressing & if someone here can tell me what I need to do.

I need all the crap for both doors, would like to find it all in a kit.

I already have the door weatherstripping, just need all the stuff for the door windows. Thanks a lot for any help

The belt line strips are felt before 1970 and rubber after and that only on the outside if I remember correctly. Also the two have different mounting holes. The clips themselves hold the strips on the door. I know that LMC sells the clips separately so it's entirely possible that DC does too. Hope this helps.

Look on ebay, NOS ones cheaper than the aftermarket.

The only problem with nos rubber is it's old
I've had window rubber crack after a short time.
Bought some Dennis Carpenter and it's lasted 25 years. :2cents:
