One word of caution, do not use the cheap 1 pc. cab mounts. Either build your own or buy the one from Dennis Carpenter. The 1pc. units from LMC and others do not last at all!
Looking at buying a 76 f100 truck with 302/ 3spd. It's not titled but does run and yard drive. Hoping to use the disc brake setup and figure out the necessary mods to use the core support and inner fenders ( since the ones I ordered never came). Wondering if it would be better to do a body swap and deal with the 2 inch gap behind the cab???
bought it! It's surprisingly low rust. Hopefully I can find someone to buy the body parts so I don't have to scrap such a nice rig. The bench seat is a lovely green (blah) vinyl with no rips! With this frame I will have a 302/3spd, A/C, p/s,frame mount gas tank, and disc brakes. The dimensions of the inner fenders and rad core support look a bit different.... anyone used dent front end parts under bump outer panels? Advice?
If that rad in the donor is good you'll want to keep it. It'll be the heavy duty one because the donor had a/c. I think you can use the rad support. It'll be a bit different but still useable in a bump.
Cool. Hood latch is definitely different, I'll have to use the 69 latch and drill new holes into the 76 core support. I started the 302 tonight, runs good, no smoke. Hopefully sell it to put money back into the truck.
