My 1967 F100 in Az with A/C!!!

I installed the Y-pipe and Smithy glass pack. I also installed the carb and drove it today. The truck pulls! It sure feels a lot more powerful! I don't think I need a 2bbl carb. The Autolite 1100 was just rebuilt by my friend last week, and this was the first time I've run it. It whistles now, and needs to be rebushed. My wife is dropping it off at a specialty carburetor shop today and it should be ready tomorrow or Fri.

I will say that the combo of that intake and EFI exhaust manifold have awoken the giant in my 67 F100. That exhaust doesn't have a tailpipe yet, so the Smithy glasspack is a little loud for me. We drove it around and we both think it sounds like a Cummins.

When I get the carb back from being rebushed, I'll take it to an exhaust shop and have a 3" tailpipe installed. That should temper the noise some- atleast from near the cab!

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last update.

My wife and I purchased a new Toyota Sequoia, so the truck hasn't had as much attention lately. I had 't driven it for a week, and when I went to start it, it was continually flooding. I tore the carb apart and found the brand new brass float had a leak and was full of gas. So, I put the old brass float on and adjusted everything again. I swapped plugs again.

I ran to Harbor Freight and picked up a sander and purple HVLP spray gun. I'll start body work next.

My wife wasn't impressed with my body work skills on previous VW projects, so she is having me hire out for the body work. With that said, I found a rear bumper, tailgate and 2 front fenders yesterday for $200! We go to the Bahama'sa week from today, and the truck will be dropped off for the body work. The bed will need some work, and a little on the hood, but that should be it.

Trying to figure what color to shoot is a hard thing! I will probably end up with the Lt blue with a white cap, grill & bumpers. But this is my chance to mix it up and throw another color on there. Hmmmm...

My truck went to a body guy to get worked on, and re-primed. If I am pleased with what I see, I'll have him shoot it with some Urethane single stage paint. I'll have more to report back in about 10 days...

I also picked up an Autolite 2100 1.08 2 bbl yesterday for $30. It needs rebuilt. I have the original intake sitting on the shelf. I'm thinking of having a machinist friend mill it so that the 2bbl carb fits without an adaptor. If that happens, the Eldelbrock may go up for sale. I don't think the smaller runners on the Edelbrock would fair well with 287 CFM.

love the look of your truck with the Slot's I had them on mine until I swapped in the crown vic clip


get a (offy) 4v intake and a 390cfm holley carb and call it a day ... don't spend the money adapting your iron intake to support a 2 v carb

when I used the (efi) manifolds on mine I ran dual glasspacks and dumped behind the wheel if you move the muffler further back it will change the sound also

Thanks for the tips! My friend wouldn't charge me, and if he did, it would be peanuts. Otherwise, you're right- I wouldn't spend the money on milling the intake. But since it's free, I figure it would be worth trying.

Well, I took the plunge. I ordered my paint from TCP Global. I bought 2 gallon kits of Light Aqua and 1 gallon kit of Wimbledon White in their Restoration Shop Urethane single stage series. I also ordered the Urethane slow reducer. The body work should be done today or tomorrow, but the paint won't arrive until Thursday. I also pulled the trigger on new window and door rubber, plus the gas tank rubber grommet from LMC. My truck should have new paint, inside and out, and new rubber in the next 10-14 days. I hope to have a truck that stands out, in a subtle way. The light aqua seems to be the closest they had in the Restoration Shop series to what I wanted. Feels like I've jumped in with both feet...

Well, I went and took the plunge. I made arrangements to swap my Edelbrock 1v intake for a like new Offenhauser DP 4v intake, and I won an Autolite 4100 1.08 carb on ebay. After I get the truck back from the body shop, I'll pull the edelbrock and ship it off. I'll mate up the big manifold and carb. Man, this purple kool aide better taste good!

The glass was pulled and the guy painted under where the new rubber goes. A new windshield is in. The bed should be ready for paint today. He is pulling the bed so it can get paint between the cab and bed. The bumpers, grill, headlight pieces and cab all have Wimbledon White on them.

The color, Lt Aqua will look similar to the pic of this Ford Edsel. If you look at the rear of mu truck, above where the rear bumper goes, you'll see the actual color painted on there.




I am getting antsy, as it's been 6 weeks. He has been doing a lot of body work, as the truck needed it. He use to be a body guy for motorcycles that my brother used for custom paint jobs. He worksout of his house now. He did a lot of welding on my truck, and I'm sure it will be straight when I get it back.

The color looks just like Caribbean Turquoise that the65-66 era F100's had. It is a pretty combination in my opinion.
