Nice work on the truck! Saw your distributor after it was polished and tried it myself and turned out great. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks everyone. We ended up picking red for the color, picked a torch red (Chevy). Thought about a burnt orange color but thought red would go better with the chrome grill/bumper and black interior.

The painter sent a couple of update pictures, sorry for the low quality pictures. The body work is done on the bed sides and he put on a coat of filler primer. He also put seam sealer on the bed side seams.

More to come soon hopefully.

Another update from the painter. He finished the body work and primer on the fenders and doors. Next is the cab, hood and tailgate. I see red in the near future.

Did you paint the back of the cab, between where the cab and bed are? I noticed the bed was black, but never saw if you did anything with the cab right there. Or is the bodyshop going to pull the bed to paint the cab?

The painter is going to pull the bed next and paint between the cab and bed. The only thing he is not painting is inside the bed where we will put the bed liner and the floor in the cab where we will have carpet.

So I was going to wait until I had some better pictures from the painter but I can't wait any longer to share. Here she is finally with some paint. I am getting pretty excited to have it done. The painter should be finishing the hood and tailgate soon and putting it all back together. I am trying to get as much of the other smaller things done in the mean time so when I get it back I can start with all the final assembly. Hopefully it will be on the streets next spring.

Jeff,
They did an awesome job on the paint! I owned one short wheel base Ford truck in my life, (a dent) and always loved them.

Today was a big day, the truck came back from being painted. Unfortunately I was not there to witness it. The truck will be with my parents in Michigan for a few months until after the winter then I can bring it out to Wisconsin to finish everything.

The painter did a great job and I am very excited to see it in person over Christmas time (and hopefully get a little time to work on it). The only issue which you can probably see in the pictures is one corner of the hood is slightly lifted which will have to get adjusted. The painter said it may be because the spring is worn out.

Love it! It's hard to beat a red truck. Looking great!! That will blend in well up there at a University of Wisconsin game!
