Now here is the power steering conversion.
Since the frame was boxed in the front I cut a 7x8 inch plate from half inch steel and drilled holes to the pattern of the steering box and then I tapped those holes for threads. The next step was to position the box where it would clear the radiator the oil filter and the power steering pump. After I found this location I drilled holes in the frame and the Welded the bracket to the frame. I did not tap the frame because if there is a small gap between the frame and your plate the bolts would never fully tighten.

Now for the power steering pump. the strait 6 bracket had all kinds of legs and supports coming off of it so I cut all of those off and then had to cut off one of the holes that mounted it to the water pump. The reason being Ford made the bigblock waterpump holes slightly closer that the 77 300CI strait 6 ones are.
The L part that comes off the back of the bracket was installed by me to ad stability to the bracket.

This shows how closely my setup fits in there. Alot of people think you have to get a different steering column. This is not true. If you own a grinder and a welder this is no problem. I had to shorten the steering shaft NOT the steering column by about 4 inches. I then took a piece of flat stock 1x3" and drilled 2 holes consistent with those on the rag joint so I left the end on the steering box and bolted my plate to the rag joint. Then I welded the Steering shaft to the piece on the rag joint. I forgot to mention In order to use the 77 tie rod ends I had to buy a tapered hole reamer and ream the holes out a little bit because the 68 ball joints are slightly smaller. That was the only tool that was needed to make the power steering stuff fit on the truck that I didnt have.
