Well, all the work on the outside has come to a halt. I have started on the cab as some of you that have looked at my posts know. I stripped the firewall off and started to replace all the seam filler, not a to bad of a chore but the small places under the dash are hard to get to. With the gas tank done, and most the seams filled, the heater box ready to go back in, its looking good. I have to get my bump running again so I can take it to the welders for the floor pan replacement. Once that is done, its time to go hog wild on the inside and get it sanded, painted and everything put back in. I will post pics of my progress soon.

It has been to hot outstide to work on my truck, but with the weather starting to cool off now work will start up again soon.

Well after a long time away from my truck, I am starting to get back into it again. I am not that good with a wrench like most of you out there, but the crazy thing is I finally found some good tires at a good price and it sparked me to get more done. Once the tires are on, I can drive it around and that will make me turn my tools on her a little more.

Today I found some tires a guy wanted $100 for. They were not in the best of shape but way better than the ones I have on the truck now. So, he decided to give me a Christmas present and I paid $0.00. Not bad for a days work huh! Next step is to get the tires on the truck get her some fuel. Nice project, Fordman5!
I just came across your project thread here, and I have question about your wheels / tires. What size wheels are you using? I know you said you want to stay with the original 15 inch wheels. But, what width of rims do you have? The original 15 inch wheels usually were 6.5 inch wide. I would like to go to wider rear tires (which my tire guy says I will need 8 inch wide rims), and just wanted to know what your plans are in this regard.
Looking forward to seeing your future updates and progress. Looking great so far!

Thanks Uncle Boo, I plan to go to 16x8 if they do not end up rubbing in the front that is. I just now got it back on the road and found out the front end clanks, or makes one hell knock if I turn to sharp. I brang it down to the shop to put some tires on her, and while I was there I had them time it, set the points and ajust the CARB to the tune of $80. Not to bad when you concider the engine would run backwards when you shut it off after it came up to temp, now it runs great and shuts off like it should. Well every bushing and spacer in the front end is waisted, and I got all the parts to fix it, so as I do the breaks I will do all the bushings wheel bearings while I am in there. I am looking forward to it. Any tips for replacing all that would be helpful. I know how to replace it, but where to jack if up from, what to support when I do it. I am a novice at this rebuilding thing so I need all the help I can get.

I just re-did all my front suspension: I-beam pivot bushings, radius arm bushings, wheel bearings and seals, and painted everything while it was apart. The engine was out of my truck at the time I did all this so my situation may have been a little less hassle, but here is how I did it:
Jacked up whole front end of truck from engine cross-member. Put my jack stands underneath the trans cross-member so they would be out of the way. Pulled the wheels off. Removed radius arm castle nuts and supported the underside of the I-beams with a couple blocks of wood. Ratchet strapped I-beam to frame rail so i could remove shocks and springs without the whole assembly flying apart from the pressure. Then its just a matter of removing all bolts and remembering where everything goes. I took a bunch of pictures but I cant find the cord to hook my camera up to my computer.
The I-beam bushings are a P.I.T.A. unless you have access to a press. But everything else is pretty straight forward.
Take your time and do everything safe, good luck

Thank you Swegner, I will keep all that in mind. I have never done this before and I will take a lot of photos as I do it. This is a learn as i go just do it project, but I know that if i mess something up I can always come here to ask how to get out of it
I will post some pics of my progress soon for you all.

As TNIceWolf said, its one small victory at a time. Today I took the time and got the grill off the truck. The intention was to get the bed off now that the bolts are out of it. Let me tell you what a headache it was crawling under that truck to get those 8 botls out. I can not find the man power to help me get the thing off so I decieded to get something done rather than nothing. As you can see in the pics I found a little more rust than I thought but still not to bad. But what you do not see is that I went back and removed the bumper and front valance as well.
After taking the PS front fender off I was amazed that there was no rust holes, it is in good shape under it as you can tell in the pics.

Got the rest of the sheet metal off the front end, and lucky me!!! no rust holes at all just surface rust. Next I want to get the front end down to just the motor and start to work on the fire wall and getting the bed off. More updates to come.

Ok, Time for an update. No pics this time around but I got all but the radiator support off. That thing is pain to get off, I cannot get the bolts loose, so if any of you have any ideas I am all ears. I do not have a tourch to heat them up and I have put on so much DW-40 that I have to wear a haz-mat suit. Once I get the complete front end off, I am going to lift the engine out and replace the cluth plates and rebuild the front end. I have all the parts but POR-15 and some paint. Pics coming soon.

This stuff: http://www.pbblaster.com/ is your friend when it comes to severely rusted bolts. I've never found WD-40 to be of any use at all for rusted together hardware.
And are you talking about the two bolts that hold the core support to the frame rails being seized together? Maybe time for a grinder if those are the one's your talking about-it's a pretty common issue for us.
