1972 Middle Tennessee diamond? Rough!

This is my second bump. I was the proud owner of a relatively straight 1970 that had a transplanted 352 and 3 speed (I did the transplant to replace a very tired 302). For some dumb reason i sold it. Recently I became the proud owner of this 1972 beauty:

I got her for scrap value, so not too bad. She does run. I've noticed that the truck has a lot of options you may or may not be familiar with:
One side of the cab is air ride:

While the other side has the optional organic ride.

She also has the optional organic hood support.

Plus the ever popular rustic, black over green paint job.
Also note the very low profile air cleaner.

It is equipped with a 1973 (according to the valve cover sticker) 390 (checked stroke with the rod in the sparkplug hole) mated to a c6.
Note that the bumper guards are left loose in order to line up best with the airflow in order to cut resistance, another option

This will be a slow build going from the frame up. She does run and pretty well actually. Thanks in advance for the questions you'll answer for me. Great site by the way.

I need a set of woodgrain cab mounts myself. Was the painted FORD hood lettering a factory option? Looks nice. I see you have the "F" delete plate on the tailgate too. Personally I wouldnt have paid extra for that option, Id have just bent it to fit that curve in the rear bumper step. Is the tailgate falling off on the one side or is the truck just parked crooked?

You found a couple of options I didn't mention. I didn't want to seem like I was bragging or anything!
Even the PO was red faced over the painted on "FORD" lettering. He claims he didn't do it. I don't know... The tailgate was a little loose in it's mountings to say the least, but I had already taken it off before I took the picture so I just sat it up there. One of the other "goodies" I've found is the 'optional but common' forced air ventilation in the floorboard.

It's going to be fun. I'm looking forward to it.

By the way papabug, I hope you don't mind but several weeks ago I stole "borrowed" one of the pictures of your bump and it graces the desktop of my computer today. Beautiful truck, but hopefully mine will one day replace it.

You forgot to mention that they only put the rust preventive coating on one side of the frame...

Gonna be a nice truck once it's tuned up a bit

Good eye! That was the optional 'engine oil/power steering fluid frame fogger'. It probably just needed to be adjusted to get the other side.

Things starting to come off. Grill is actually in good shape but it was hiding some rust in the radiator support. But I've seen worse.
