That's right $50 bucks for this 1968 F100 LWB. I bought her basically as she is right now. It has a 65 Mustang 289/C4 powertrain. This truck was running and just needed a lil TLC (as well as tires and brakes).
I replaced the entire brake system, adjusted the valves, replace water pump, did a tune-up, changed the oil and drove her home.
Since I got her home I drive her a couple times a week to and from work. I have powder coated a set of Ford steel wheels (15x6 up front & 15x9 out back), wrapped them in some 1990 vintage BF Goodrich rubber I had packed away and added the 65 Galaxie 429 Police dogdish caps (I found on Ebay) last week.
I have been threatening to do the body work and paint her but everyone tells me not to. This is the original paint job with a few primer blast here and there. Everyone seems to like her look....even has grown on me too.
I know the entire history of this truck. It belonged to a close friend of mine and I had riden in it many times back in high school (many years ago) before I bought it. About 2 years ago I saw it sitting at his uncles house and one day while I was visiting his uncle, I asked if Marty wanted to sell it. Long story short, Marty had already given it to another friend. Marty's uncle called the guy and asked if he wanted to sell it. He said no and that was that. About 2 minutes later Marty's uncle recieved a call back from the guy and he told him to find out what my offer was. Jokingly I said $50 bucks.....and he took it!
There are some crazy deals out there if you just look around..

Re: The $50 Truck
Great score, 67StrayCat! it looks like you have a good base vehicle to work from, and I cannot believe that price....for a running vehicle!! Obviously riding around in this truck with your buddy left a lasting impression on you! Bumps rule!!
That truck has the identical two-tone paint job as my '68 F-100 LWB project truck.....except mine is the Ranger model. Almost like looking at the same vehicle!
Are you planning to re-paint in the same colors (good ol' Rangoon Red and Wimbelton White)? Or, are going with something completely different?
