So I thought I'd start Blue his own progress thread. If nothing else you all can harass me about working on him.
A little bit about Blue. I got Blue as a gift for my 17th birthday, my first car When I got him I didn't know how to drive a stick. Yep, I learned to drive stick on a NP-435 4 speed It was terrifying. Originally he was wimbledon white, but was later painted to a 70s style two tone white and blue (I'll have to see if I can find pics). I had him painted at a $#!t painter to his current superman blue. Every time I wash him some paint comes off. It's awesome.
He's a late production year '67 and so has some of the '67 only traits, like the interior, and others that bleed over from '68, like the reflectors & hood braces. So he's even more of a red headed step child than your typical '67 He's on his second engine which was reported to be a .10 over 390. It'g got a four barrel edelbrock carb & K&N filter on top Flowmaster 40 out the back.
Right now he's not running due to an issue with water in the cylinders, I've yet to find out just how bad this is, but hey, I've got a spare engine for parts if needed He's probably going to end up with a rat rod look once things start getting painted, flat black with grabber blue painted wheels. Partially cause I can't afford a real paint job for him
Onto the pics!
Just noticed my dog Samantha photo bombing this pic
My crappy old floormats got torn out in a fit of rage against mildew I've been planning to cover it with DIY truck bed liner for a while now anyway
Things that need doing:
+ obviously the priority is the engine and getting it running strong again. I've been planning to delegate that part since it's a little over my head, however I keep toying with the idea of just tearing into it myself. My biggest concern is there being something else wrong while I'm in there and I don't see it since I'm a noob
+ break pressure was a little wonky, not sure if they just need to be bled, or if the break booster is going out. Crossing fingers for needing bled.
+ Replace the bed. Though the "special modifications" to the floor of the bed do keep water out well , I've got a nice straight bed to drop on instead.
+ needs a new passenger side fender, the bumper and {dealie that goes in between them} are tweaked too, but are livable for now
+ So so so so so so...so so so much more.

A few pics of Old Blue in his slightly younger years. This is what he looked like when I first got him
When I got him he had a dent in the back of the bed which my neighbor kindly repaired (though he must have used a gallon of bondo *facepalm* ). Not long after I had him painted I put an identical dent in the other side of the bed
Lol look at that ugly mug! Can you imagine a 17 year old girl being excited to receive that for her birthday. I totally was LOL
After the paint job. it looked alright when it was brand new!
Finally got rid of that lumber rack! (by the way if anyone is interested in that rack I still have it!)

Liz,
What's really funny is my son (39) wants NOTHING to do with it... I guess it's beneath him and his high falootin' life style in the fast lane. He's a BMW kinda guy.... ain't NOTHIN' like his Daddy. Has total disdain for Rodeos, Country Music and gettin' greasy workin' on old Ford pickups. Oh well... luck of the draw.
It's safe to say my kids are spread out in their age ranges and likes and dislikes...
It's GREAT you should put it that way... My oldest Daughter (29) wants to keep it because... well... she's the oldest! My second Daughter (24) wants it because she's like her Daddy... a Cowboy at heart and Forrest Bump is definitely a Cowboy Pickup Truck. My baby girl (12) has spent the most time with me and Forrest. She's even scrawled her name in the oxidized paint on the shot gun door with her finger... I guess it's her way of laying claim to Forrest.OldBlue67 wrote: I take it they're arguing about who has to take it and not who gets it?

Re: Old Blue 67 - the long road ahead ;-)
Pretty cool!
I raised my two daughters and youngest son myself from the time they were 15,13 & 11 respecfully. We are all pretty close and they all have the old car/hot rod bug like their dad. My older daughter (now 26) has a 71 Mustang which she has been working on. Only senior girl in high school who got a edlebrock intake & 4 barrel carb for Christmas. Younger daughter (now 23) has a 87 Monte SS with t-tops that she's working on, (it was our token minority and she is the one who crumpled the front end). My youngest son just bought a Oklahoma 64 Ford 2 dr sedan I had and I'm giving him a 460/C6 I have out back for his 22nd birthday. My oldest son, i'm not sure about, he just thinks everything he wants should be his 'cause it's owed to him for some reason.
Anyway, the 3 younger all can do their own brakes, water pumps, and all that. The benefit of growing up with dad. My oldest daughter helped me build the 390 in my 64 Galaxie. I'm real proud of them, as you can tell. Something about a pretty girl who isn't afraid to get dirty! My second wife is that way too .... although she's not too quick to get a little greasy!
Glad your back and started this thread. If there is any help you need help is here!!!
God Bless,
Ed
