[Kaizen]

Starting my project page to list what has been done and what needs to be done.

So far I have only changed out the points in the distributor for electronic. I am having a lot of issues with having no power. From a stop I have to put it to the floor to get it going up to speed and even then it tops out at 2500rpm and 50mph. So not sure what the deal is.

Also, it is an automatic trans and the shifter sucks and is really loose. I have to push and pull until I find the right gear. So I need to find out what that issue is right away.

This is a daily driver (20 miles one way to work), so these issues need to get resolved soon.

I also noticed that the ground cable for the battery is red and attached to the manifold. It also has a C-6 trans and Flow Tech dual exhaust with ceramic coated long tube headers. Front disc brakes that grab like all get out to the right when applied. A Limited Slip Dana 60 rear end and a Tach.

Oh yeah, the floorboards on both sides are from the Flintstone era. Held together right now by the rubber floor mat. Haha. Didnt notice that until I bought her!

Sounds like you need to check the shifter linkage on the trans. It may need to be adjusted/repaired.

As for lack of power, it could just need a good tune-up (carb, timing, etc.).

Hello felow New Mexican. It's good to see someone fairly nearby on the site. The body on your truck looks to be in pretty good shape. If you end up needing a column or possibly other parts, let me know. I've got a 69 Ranger F100 donor/parts truck and will not be using any of the automatic transmission parts off of it. I may have some other misc. parts as well. Without any more information, it sounds like your timing may be off or possibly the motor may have jumped a tooth on the timing gear. If you haven't done so, I would start seperate topics in the engine and suspension/steering/brakes forums for help on the motor and shifter problems.

Great, thanks Mike I may need parts as this goes along. Last night I replaced the plugs, coil, fuel filter, put in electronic points and will do an oil change this weekend.

I noticed it did run better this morning on the way to work, but still had to have the foot on the floor to get anywhere. It feels like I am pulling a camper everywhere.
