Bought a 70 long bed awhile back that I was going to build into a shortbed, and then recently ran across this 69 shortbed. The 69 has a 460 in it with a C6, and has been lowered. The motor and trans appear to be stock.
Any one know if these are Ranger buckets or Mustang buckets?
The left inner fender was rusted in half so the hood was a bear to open. I pulled the inner and outer left fender off the donor truck along with the hood ang replaced them. At least the hood opens now! I really like the seats that are in it and want to get them redone. First item on the list will be to get the floor plans replaced and some other misc rust repaired.
I'm not positive but I think those are mustang seats. What kind of condition is that 460 in? Should be a beast of a ride with all that HP!!! Good project fella.
Sweet truck! I am pretty sure that those are Mustang seats. My brother in law has a late 60's Mustang and the trim along the side of the seats looks just like his.
Good luck!

They look like 1967 Mustang seats, you'll want to know for sure when buying new seat covers, if I remember correctly, 67 is a breed of its own when the seat upholstery is concerned, earlier yrs won't work but I'm not sure if 68/69 will, if those are original covers you can tell by the pattern.
I stand corrected, after looking at your seats a little more, I think there 1968 seats
Well I ran into my first snag... Went to title it and my title matches the VIN on the door but not the VIN on the frame. the state of KS only recoegnizes the frame VIN becasue they said its to easy to simply change the door. I cant title my truck the way it sits. I have an option that envolves alot of work. A frame swap... I have a 70 that has a title that matches the frame. The 70 is a long bed so I will be cutting it down to short bad length.
Don't know about the buckets, but that console is out of a blazer...Put the same one in my truck...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!
Where did you look for the vin# on the frame? All of ours has one. They are on the passenger side just forward of the cab mount on the top of the frame rail, in case you didn't know. When I took my 67 apart, it wasn't really visible until a brushed off the years of surface rust, dirt, and grime.

Well... I went to look at yet another parts truck and couldnt believe the condition it was in! Here it is, a 1968 F100 Ranger 98% RUST FREE!!!
So I'm going to use this truck for my build. The only thing its missing is the motor. It has an AOD tranny and the driveshaft has been modified to fit. What will mate up to this trans? My short bed f100 has a 460/C6, will the 460 bolt up to the AOD?
Im going to guess and say the AOD is from a smallblock and wont work with a 460, smallblock bolt pattern will fit I-6s 240 and 300, V8s 260,289,302,351 windsor and cleveland. The 460 bolt pattern will fit 351 modified, 429 and 460. Ford made some 460 pattern AODs but dont think theres alot of them out there. I think thats the best looking parts truck ive ever seen
You may be able to find an adapter to go from the 460 to the AOD. Although they're usually pricey and may require you to relocate the trans (and therefore require to modify drive shaft length).
Thats a nice parts truck! Dont take this the wrong way but your parts truck looks better than the one your getting the parts for.. I just reread your post where you say your using this as your build truck..
