Re: Starting my 72 camper special project!
Finished putting down the rest of the mass loaded vinyl sound barrier. Put the foil tape on all of the seams. Should be all ready for the molded carpet, once that is ordered. I also put the arm rests back on since I took them off to put the sound insulation on the panels.
I also worked on the instrument cluster. I cant figure out why none of the gauges work. I'll keep trying to figure it out.![Confused :?](./images/smilies/icon_confused.gif)

Your truck is really nice and I cannot believe how good your truck looks!
I have a 72 250 CS SC as well and I hope mine comes out looking half as good as yours!
This keeps me motivated to keep working hard on mine!

Re: Starting my 72 camper special project!
I spent all weekend installing my new molded carpet from Auto Custom Carpet off of Ebay for $145 including shipping. I asked that it not be trimmed and it came with a lot of extra carpet on the sides and front/back. I had enough to put it all the way up the firewall. I took out the gas tank and had enough to wrap up 1/2 way on the rear cab wall. It probably took me about 6-7 hours total but it came out great. I am very happy with the results.
Next weekend I hope to install the new weatherstripping for the doors. I am sure I will have to adjust the striker plates once they are installed. I am also going to polish up the scuff plates. I also have the XLT modesty panel (thanks Fordman) that I am going to install, along with the woodgrain dash trim and metal dash trim. I hope to get to that sometime this month.![FORDification Rocks! :fr:](./images/smilies/icon_FORDification.gif)

Re: Starting my 72 camper special project!
All your work looks very good. When you get her done you had better remember to open your window a little before closing your door or you might bust your ear drums.
My wife's 07 Mustang has a trick where when you open the door the window rolls down about a half inch. After you close the door the window rolls up. Helps the door close easy. After I put new anti rattle kits and door seals on my 71 Sportcustom I noticed it was a lot harder to close the doors. I am in the habit of cracking the window when I open the door and closing it when I shut the door when I am getting in.
You will have a very nice truck when done.

Wow Terry what a great truck!
You certainly show a lot of tallent and patience with all the cab work and engine bay work you've done.
I got your PM and I'll go back to it now to see if I can offer any input.

Re: Starting my 72 camper special project!
Thanks everyone for the kind words. I worked this past weekend on some more interior pieces. My son and I restored the woodgrain dash metal pieces that go under the instrument cluster. We found the pieces at the junk yard and they were in good shape but we decided to apply new wood grain to it. My son really did a fantastic job and sanded/buffed the metal edges of those pieces and they almost look like chrome! I had ordered a role of burled walnut decal and applied it and trimed with an exacto knife. I also got a modesty panel from Fordman (thanks!) and did a little work on it. It had been cracked and Fordman fixed it and I just did a little more patch work on it and sanded and repainted it. Also applied the new woodgrain decal to it and installed. I am trying to restore the instrument bezel and that has been a challenge. I don't want to spend the $ for a new repro and it costs even more to have it "rechromed" so I am trying to use the spray chrome. Not perfect but ok. I've had to spend a ton of time taping it off and then redoing it, etc. Hope to have that done this week. I also got a pair of the plastic chrome seat pivot covers from the junk yard. sprayed them and will install them today or tomorrow. It's coming along nicely. This weekend I am servicing the C6 tranny, flushing brake system, installing the new gabriel overload shocks, servicing rear diff., and repacking the front bearings. I flushed the radiator a couple of weekends ago. In May I hope to tune it up and maybe (If I can save up the $), install an entirely new distributor w/elec. ignition. I think I might try the Pertronix with the newer Ignitor III and a high voltage coil. We'll see. Then I am going to have to take a look at the carb and decide if I want to rebuild it or purchase a new one. That might have to wait a while. Here are some pics of the interior.
