1972 F250 CS Restoration Finally Begins :)

Post by dixielynn »

Over the past couple days I've finally got to start working on my truck really good. With some help from Aaron because I got my tattoo Thursday and wasn't really able to get into some of the tight spaces I normally would be able to because of the tattoo being on my arm but none the less I did everything I could and probably a little more because I've been really excited about finally getting to work on my truck! :)

This of course is the bullet hole in my truck, that has been there for probably about twenty years. There's also a hole in the chrome, which I'm using in the interior :)

This is my truck about an hour before Aaron and I had to stop workin on it. And of course Aaron just had to be in the picture :)

All in all I've got most of the front of the truck taken off, began taking the interior out, took the tailgate off, started sanding on my hood, took all the emblems and chrome off, got the motor mostly ready to be taken out, and I've came up with a lot more ideas for my truck. My goal for this weekend is to have my motor and transmission out. And then seperate the two and take my block to a machinist, which will be some of the first steps that lead up to finally getting my truck running :)

Looks like a good solid platform for a nice project! Keep us posted!
When in doubt, hit the gas. It may not be the right answer, but at least it ends the suspense!!

Dodge Alert

Your CS definately has potential. I think you might need to look at that right front tire. Might need a little air. How are you gonna use the bullet hole trim?

Haha, well I can't say anything because I like some Dodges. My order of truck makes i love are Ford, then International, then Dodge :) lol

And yeah the front right tire is in extremely bad shape. But I plan on putting a 4 inch lift and gettting some nice tires and Mickey Thompson Classic II rims. Is hard to find nice looking eight lug rims :/ But the MTs are really nice! :)

And the bullet hole was made by my Papa, who died when i was younger. So I'm taking the trim with the bullet hole and putting it in the interior and where the actually bullet hole is I'm putting it over the push button on the glovebox and to make it even better, I have the brass of the bullets his gun took and I'm fabricating it to be the push button :) I cant wait to get started on the interior because I think this will make mine very unique and thats exactly what I want :)

Oh my gosh! What year Scout II do you have? I love Scouts! Aaron has a 74 Scout II that I get to drive while he's in college in NC :)

The Scout actually belongs to my 12 yo son. I'm trying to talk him into selling it so we can build a proper F-100 pre-runner out of a 70 Shortbed 2wd I have my eye on. If not, oh well.

I want one so bad, lol. But there arent many people with internationals in SC :/ After I finish my truck, I will find me a Scout or Travelette! Internationals are so cool :) But I've always been a Ford girl, so I'm gonna finish my truck first then I'll look for an International. Until I have one of my own I'll just continue to help work on my boyfriends Scout II :)

I don't think there are many people anywhere whi have Internationals. They are kinda expensive to buy parts for and they usually need a lot of work.

Sweet trucks. The F250 camper specials are my favorite and it looks like you have a good one to build from. The Scout is awesome. I love the big International Travelalls from the 70's. I think they were the only competition to the Suburbans back then. I think it's awesome to see a lady that likes working on these old pickups. I wish my wife had some interest.

Good luck on all of your projects and keep the pics coming as you go along! :fr:
