Well I just got the truck and started tearing it down. So far its about half as good as the PO said it was.

I love to see new posts on rebuilds or restos. Pics do help, everyday do something you will be surprised at how far you get. Nice looking truck and good luck..

OK got out to night and did some more looking over this truck. It's got some cool stuff I figured I would share.

Sway bars

I love the wheels

Radiator is huge

351W

The seat isnt bad. No rips but wrong color

The Hurst shifter hooked to the toploader.

New welder to fix the bad spots

More to come.

Here are some bad spots so far.

Also came with a crack free dash pad and a set of gauges from a big ford truck.

FoMoCo,

Nice truck. I don't know what you gave for it but it looks like a nice starting point to me. Thos Torque Thrusts are bithcin.

You might know this already, but that radiator is definately gonna need a shroud. Those thick radiators are difficult to get air through, in comparison to a copper/brass 3 or 4 row. If your fan is not real close to the core, it'll just suck air from the sides instead of through and over the fins and tubes.

Don't know how far your going on your rebuild,but was wondering if ya could get me some pic's of that toploader linkage set up. Just bought a toploader/misc.shift parts....not sure what I do&don't have

I am looking into that now. I think it's going to be a custom job. Plus the coolant liiks like crap. I dont thnik the aluminum and cast iron play well togeather.

The toploader has some leaks that need fixed. I am going to get it out and I will get you some pics of the linkage for sure.

That is a huge radiator, If you keep it I would go with electric fans personally

You are right about that. There are some things you can do to mitigate the electrolysis like overkill grounding straps. There's also an anode cap plus other gadgets. here is a good resource:

Well I got the inside stripped out. It's not to bad. I need to do some work on the floors but nothing to bad. Does anyone know if you can get a sliding rear window for these trucks?

Try posting in parts wanted--there fairly common and your location would be helpful

I have one(locks broke)and I,m on the fence about using it,but theres probaly others that have them and may be closer to ya

We I got out tonight and worked on the old truck for a bit. Fixed the door and started working on the patch in the door sill.

Still have some more welding and grinding to do on the door sill. Then it's time to starting sanding and get started painting. Looks like JD Blitz Black will be my color of choice.
