Didnt get a chance to put the bed on today cause of pouring rain, so ended up I playing with a few camera angles of the bedside and started cleaning out the garage.

I hope to one day have a paint booth to spray in but for now the garage works just fine, but make sure to cover everything with plastic sheeting and water down the floor really well to keep dust down and overspray off of the concrete. I got a few red spots on the floor but the pressure washer takes care of that nicely.

All that needs to be finshed bodyworked and painted are the doors and tailgate then its on to the interior!

Put the bed on yesterday morning but I had to leave shortly after so it was dark by the time I got back home. Here's some pics from today. I'll get some full shots once I finish the doors and tailgate.




Also if your wondering, the semi is about 4 feet longer. This one's gonna be fun to park in small parking lots!

Do you mind posting paint specs? What kind of paint are you shooting (brand) and is it BC/CC or SS? Looks fantastic for being shot in a garage!!

Its a single stage acrylic enamel and the brand is "Restoration Shop". I had the paint custom mixed at the autobody supply shop.

I had to buy 3 gallons,to paint inside and out and have about a half gallon left to finish the rear doors and tailgate.

I presume with all the nice work you put out that you're running a nice 220v compressor with a quality gun as well right? What water seperator are you running?

Thanks, it helps me out a lot because i need to get some nice paint on the 4x4. I know the basics of spraying and what setup you should use but just want to see what specific people are using

yep thats the stuff... I was able to get it locally and custom mixed, if I would of went with their standard colors I would have saved a few $ but it was worth it.

For a compressor Im running a 60 gallon Kobalt turned up to 145 psi hooked up to 220v , and my spray gun is a Sata jet 2000 with a 1.3mm tip.

Havnt had a chance to work on the truck lately, but today I had some time to go to the junkyard and I scored some good parts!


I already have a external trans cooler but when I was ordering it I didnt realize how small it was until it showed up, its adequate for the truck but it just seems way to small. I came across the one in the picture and I plan on adding a second cooler just for piece of mind, now I just got to get some barb fittings to connect them together....

Also scored a good door handle, bench seat out of an 80's pickup, rust free in cab tank and some speaker housings that mount on the kick panel.


I found these speaker housings in a '68 bump and they were mounted to the kick panels. I plan on mounting them at the bottom of the center door posts on the crew cab. Im a big car audio enthusiast so Im pretty exicted I was able to find these since I planned before on mounting 2 speakers in each door but the rear doors are to short to mount 2 in each. Now I can have 2 5 1/4" speakers in the front doors and 2 in the pillars and 2 in the rear doors.
The in cab tank will be temporary until I find a decent aux tank to have dipped and resealed, then I can install my sub box beind the rear seat to finish off the system.


Lastly I found a york 210 compressor bracket on a dentside that had ac, so now I can start plumbing the truck up for on board air to run power tools,fill up tires,fill up overload air springs and possibly a train horn.
