My Pro touring starter kit

Post by Bigblock514 »

Well guys heres my project. I've been after this guy for a long time for this truck and they finally let it go a year and a half ago. It was sitting behind my house for almost 20 years,
under a pecan tree. After two days of cleaning and a few minor changes this is it. A '72 F100 sporting a '69 grill. ( love those 69's) '90 model wheels. I just went and picked up a '69 hood for it today. Look closely at the bed! It's a shall it's going to be a short box soon, so the bed will be for sale soon.
Plans are going to be a pro touring look with a Mustang II front and airbags, big block engine and 4wdb. A pretty nice starter kit Huh!

I got this truck for 250.00 I still can't believe it!

Thanks guys. It was sporting a really ugly camper shell before I pull out the guys yard. For some reason he had some weights attached to the inside of the bed, and the rear has
helper springs. Don't understand that one.
I thought about keeping it the same color it's actually a little different.

The color is a little different but that is what makes it look good IMO. A 514 is going to be putting out some torque, What are your plans to get it to hook up ? Slicks LOL.

Cool truck, I am about to start work on a similar idea as your. Why are you going MII front end? Do you want it real low? I was going to go with a MII also but I am now sold on using the Crown Vic suspension as I want it lowered but not dragging frame. You might check out Carcrafters22 write up on them. Pretty cool.

The first picture you have on there has the 72 grille, then the 2nd has the 69 grille. Did you mount the 69 grille yourself? If so, was it easy to do? I have a near perfect 69 grille that I pulled off a truck at the pick a part that I have been too lazy to list for sale. While I purchased the billet grille inserts for my 72 that I am saving until after paint, I may go with the 69 grille instead if it is an easy swap. Looks great!!
