My $1000 1971 Bump project

Well I have a $1000 in it for now

1971 Ranger XLT, 302/Auto/3.25 gear
Runs good, has a bad lifter but no miss
Replaced Plugs/Muffler so far
Removed western jr mirrors/bed rails
Removed dash pad/will fill in holes later/doesn't look too bad like it is.
Painted stock rims
1 1/2 coil cut off front springs/Half flip on rear
Rubbed out the paint real good and shampooed the carpet
I'll probably dumped too much money into down the road but it should be fun

, That's a good looking truck! I'd say the rims turned out very good, and I like the new lowered stance of your truck IMO it sits at the perfect height. Can't wait to see what the Ranger's got in store next .

thanks guys, it sits a little low in the back but I'm going to run a taller tire on 8 inch rims and that should give it a little rake

At $1000, if you get to drive it for 3 months, it just paid for itself. I think it looks great and the things that are not perfect, give it character. I love these old trucks.

mounted an old sun tach I had on the shelf, its a little rusty and faded so it looks right at home

finally got my 8" steelies and added some paint, just need to redo the fronts now

yeah, just pulled off the pad and just cleaned the metal. I like it alot better than the pad, gives it an older look

I like the look of the dash with out the pad but how do u pull it off I would like some info on that may be some pics on how its done

I just pulled out the glove box and the dash cluster, there are 2 rows of nuts to remove. There is one set in front and one set along the windsheild. They are pretty easy to get to with gauge cluster/glove box out of the way
