crown vic ebay score

Post by fbomb100 »

I'm still new here and saying hello to all here.theres alot of good info I have got on this site(a lot of smart guys here).Like for one the crown vic front suspension thing. My buddy is building a 71 long bed and whated to lower it but he did not like to do the drop beems.so i looked around the net and looked and so on.well see what was done here i told him about it he looked on here and he did it and the 71 is coming good.
ok as for me ,, well i got a 71 too i but it to drive but thats along sorry(it was @#$%^)so I have been looking for this set up too or a car and get more then i need.well its been 8 mo now and looking on ebay again for things I can't aford and wish i can get lol.well i came across a salvage 2009 crown vic p71 for 1200 start bid so i put in my watch list thinking its going to go past 4000.next day still no bids and now he lowered the start bid too 900. I was thinking what the hell.so i call the # that he had on there and asked about the car and why u selling it . His answer was the wife wants it out of the garage NOW!so i got the phone and started to think about it.it in CO and I live in CA how inthe hell am I going to get that home.So i started to call all the auto transporters ther is .So i got a price of 800 as there is no streeing coliem in there a transporter was hard to get.well now I was still dreaming, now is like 12 mid nit and was bored so Iwent back on the computer and yes ebay.the man lowered it again to 800 and now set it at buy now!!!!this is a 2009 crown vic now and no one bided on it and now at a buy now at 800!!these cars go for a hell of alot more then that,so i said what the hell and hit the buy now!lol then said what did i do!!!I just bought it ,,so now with buying the car and getting a transporter ,it costed me 1600.but thats sill cheep for a 2009 cv p71 with 33,xxxx miles on it, is this a ebay score

well thanks for reading this long story of my ebay find and my storys will get better of my project with lots of pic of the prograss as it gos along

Those 4.6 motors are great in my opinion. Between the 2 vics I had, I LOVED the engines. Very reliable, maint free and good power. I put just over 200,000 on one of them and only changed the belt and plug wires.

Pics of the project would be nice down the road sometime!

not of my truck yet its at a freinds house as i have too many cars to play with at my house...
as for the crown vic ,,not entell i get it home and if i can get it here!!!
there is no steering column in there so u got to just kick the tiers to the lf or rt to turn it as you move it!
BUT NO TRANSPORTER WANTS TO DO THAT LOL, AND 5 CANSALED ON IT WITH THE TRANSPORT COM I HIRE TO DO IT LOL
I got to send this guy a part so he can make it steer so the transport guys can load it and get it to me!! I'll keep all you up dated.

Looks like you got a good find. You will be very pleased on how well your truck drives after you are done. I am interested on how the carb conversion turns out. I didn't have a big enough budget to do that or some kind of painless wiring harness for the FI so I just used the harness from one of the donor C/V. It doesn't look as pretty but it gets the job done on a small budget. Wish you was not so far from me I would like to see the engine after the conversion. On the trans how will that be done. Since the trans in the C/V is electronic is they a way to have a stand alone computer for it or will you use a manual trans or an old school auto like a C6 with a conversion plate on it? Can't wait to see your progress on it.
