Why the mismatched bed? Looks like the matching one was in better shape.

Well the reason for the miss matched bed is that since I put the truck onto a 74 frame the bed holes of my old truck don't line up. I didn't want to redrill my bed so I left this one on there till I get a chance to put my welding skills to use and make a flat bed for this truck. So while it looks sorta ugly I'm gonna use it for right now since its gosh awful cold here for me to be out side laying on my back welding lol.

Hey Steve! Your latest photos look truly fantastic. Your truck looks like it has an ideal stance! Have there been any big surprises so far while driving it?

it shifts a lot better than it use to.
the clutch isn't as hard to push( odd since its that same clutch)

and the wandering due to the steering box being loose as all get out... this one makes it so i cant really take it out for a long test run

wait i thought the 67-77.5 4x4 frame was the same width all the way back. and so until 77.5 the 74-77.5 beds had thier bolts go through the same spot as the 67-72 trucks did.

Looking good. If it was mine I would put the matching box back on. Just my prefference.
I have one question though. I knew (from what I've learned on this forum) that the dents have a longer wheelbase than the bumps. I alwas thought/assumed that the box on the dents would be longer thus making up for the longer wheelbase but you changed the cab and you have the gap between the box and cab. So here is the question. Is the cab longer on the dents compared to the bumps and not the box?
