Re: got to work on the 67 today: new plan/project

Post by SteveC »

ok not really much of a update but I have been wanting a 4x4 hi-boy since the days i first saw one.. but wife would kill me if i buy another truck to drive. SO im gonna make this truck a 4x4.
To do so im gonna try to find a 67-77 preferably a 73-77 hi-boy with the FE engine and 4speed.. though i can get any hi-boy and then just use the correct engine stands. This way is so much faster of changing to a 4x4 from 2 wheel drive.\

So im in the market in this area for a rusted out ford truck that has decent running gear... though i probally cant afford much at this point so im still looking.

Ill post updates when i accually find the truck to swap frames with

Looks great, allthat work and now you want to rip it out.....

Sounds like me.

I'm hoping to buy a couple dentside trucks over the next couple months and build a '73 F250 4x4 (for sentimental reasons).

not to much work for me just time... the thing that was the most longest waiting on was just getting parts from the store. the engine would go with the truck and the rolling frame would be kept as back up.. break lines all capped to keep stuff from rusting...

and it is pretty typical of me to.. if i had the room id just buy a 73-77 highboy and call that . that but i dont have the room for more than 3 vehicles so i have to settle lol.
