And here is the latest on the stand alone clutch peddle assembly..... this will hold the clutch master cylinder for my 3600# double disc clutch. I will add a third bearing suport to the outside of the shaft and finish off the M/C rod end mount.

In between the porting action... I had this adapter/spool piece made to bolt the NV4500 to a NP205 (Ford case w/Dodge gears).... Then I read a thread about the cast iron tail housings on CompD, so I need to check my runout!

Hey Dustin,
I'm thinking we may have talked about the NP205 vs NP241 some time ago, so forgive me if this is redundant. Do you know what the overall width of a NP241 is? Trying to remember if it fits within the frame rails... this is what got me thinking about this again....
NP205 destructs on a pulling truck.....

The dodge 241 is 3-4" wider than a 205. The GM IFS 241/242 is about the same offset, but clocked flat.
I don't know the story behind that 205, but would stand behind a 205 being stronger than a 241. If I had to guess what happened to cause that 205 to come apart I'd put money on the reason being that it's a divorced unit. The divorced cases have far more stress going through thier case than a mated one. If you mount one too cushy you'll spit yokes, if it's too rigid the frame torsion will split the case.
If I had a dedicated pulling truck I'd do what the monster truck guys do- Build a dedicated full time chain reduction box.
I am interested in the filler door, lets see some more pics. Where did you get it? I will follow along to see how it fits the contour of the bed.I need to do the same thing for the tank I added behind the axle.

I was really surprised to see just how close the contour actually is.... I ordered it with the front face un-welded just in case I need to tweak the fit some.

sorry if someone asked this already, what brand and type of paint did you use. it looks like the paint is textured but is that just the texture of the block?

Ya... the texture is from the block. The paint is Summit Ford Blue engine paint.
