What happened to the pics? I fell off the face of the earth for a while and missed the last part of the build. I moved and missed a couple of issues.

Yes...not one attached picture would come up!!! I just found this thread and haven't seen the mag--I'd really like to see the pics. It seems a lot of the older threads here with attached pics won't come up. Really makes me feel like I missed out!!!!

Well, what can I say except the road to Hell is paved with good intentions!
Sorry for not being around here for quite some time. I was just trying to keep up with everything in the real world and neglected all the stuff on the interweb machine, including you guys here. Thanks for all the support so far and YES, I'm gonna finish the truck come hell or high water!
I need to have it ready to paint this summer because my friend thats painting is a teacher and has the summer off...I've done almost everything I can to avoid doing the sheetmetal and bodywork and that's about all that's left. My friend Jesse from Ford Racing (you may have seen him on Overhaulin' when ever Ford is involved) is going to be out here in about two weeks and we're going to try and get it running!!!! Even though its all taken much longer than anticipated, Ford now has a harness for the 3-valve Mod motors because of the work on my truck, so if nothing else ever happened at least there would be that.
Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Thanks!
I'll do my best to poke my head in every once in a while, but I got a lot of work to do to finish this thing in the next few months! Without any help I might add...

Hey Grant, welcome back. I have been wondering what happened to you and your truck. I hadn't seen any write ups in the magazine unless I missed them. I am really anxious to see more of the build and of the finish truck. Take care and throw us a picture or 2 now and then.

I took a few months off a while ago on doing stories on the truck, but have still been cranking them out. Just put a Keisler Tremec T45R 5-speed in it which is a real good and affordable trans. I also just built the stainless exhaust system for it. I want to install the A/C before paint and other than that it is all sheetmetal/body/paint work so in a few months there probably wont be stories for a while until I FINISH IT!

hmm another plan for my project, that looks good i dont want to bother you but do you think you could get a picture of how much room there is in the wheel well now? looks like it would add some room for some bigger rims/tires.

I dont have a pic of the underside clearence, but I have 18" wheels, kicked the frame up 2", 2" dropped spindles and the coilovers set pretty low to check for clearence when I did it. It's about as much as you can do without cutting into the "upright" pieces of the stock inner fender panel that go back and bolt to the firewall. I have a good amount to clearence with the wheels turned too. It was a lot of work to do and keep all the gaps tight for welding, but it was worth it! I forget what month I did the tech story on doing it, I'll have to try and dig it up.
I did it like this because I wanted it to look like it could have come from the factory like this. I'm not much for wheel "tubs" that look like common round "tubs".

Look forward to seeing some progress..

I think you also moved the front wheel centerline up an inch? I had bookmarked a picture of your frame once but its missing now.

I think it was 1 1/2" total that I moved the spindle centerline forward. You also see the effects of kicking the fame up in the after photo.
It was a lot of work after the fact to do it, but I would never have been happy with it otherwise.

Before (actually I did 1/2" before this when I originally put the clip in):

Hey Robert. I look in everyday but just don't have a lot to contribute right now. I went back to work overseas this year, so I hope to get started on the crewcabs soon. Take care and see you later.
