Just to bring this back up, HF has a sale on their Gantry crane for $499.

That is $100 off - But you have to have the coupon in the advertisement.. They often have them at the store, so if you didn't get one yet, this may be a good place to get one.

I will be waiting for a week or so to look for the additional 10% off coupon (yes, HF coupons are additive) and see how I much I can save.

I know this won,t help much but when I built my garage I put a 28ft 10in. I beam across the with of my garage.I have a 2ton trolley on it and a chain hoist.I work on farm tractors alot and it comes in handy for splitting them to change a clutch or just pulling a engine. Whatever you decide I know you will get lots of use from it.

I bought the HF crane... and then an electric hoist for it... I am in it about $625.

I have already used it several times and I am pleased with it so far. Once I get the shop organized I will be using it to lift and maneuver a cab, bed, engine and frame around (all at different times), so I will give a further report once I have put 1100 lbs on it...
