I've personally owned half a dozen or more 67-69 2wd's with the aux tanks and every one of them had the factory tank (the aux tank trucks have an extra steel piece that is RIVETED to the frame) and the filler above the bump.
We all know what the aftermarket saddle tanks look like and the differences between those and factory tanks.
Believe all bumpside aux fillers are below the bump if you want, it's your choice.

You might have been in the hobby for a long time, had a lot of cars and trucks, been a Ford guy since Methuselah walked the Earth. I don't care.Gunz wrote:blah, blah, blah.
You are mistaken.

Hey everyone I am here again to clear this mess up.
Specifics is the magic word.
Bill (Gunz) in essence is CORRECT .
On the 1970+ 21 & 25 gallon w/ or w/o evap emissions AUX under cab fuel tank the fuel filler is located BELOW the bump while the 16 gallon In-cab tank filler is ABOVE the bump.
See on this 1970 Truck brochure it shows both fuel filler as per their application see item #9.
IMO, Bill deserves an apology because he is correct and is rarely wrong (but does make the very odd mistake.)
Bill has so much experience with these trucks he is a hard man to dispute.

It's a 1970 brochure you got there! 1970 through 72 were BELOW the bump. 67-69 were ABOVE the bump.
The whole discrepancy is whether the factory aux filler was below the bump for 67-69 trucks. It was not, it was above.

This is what you posted, now you are saying some are above and some are below?
My purchased brand new: 1968 F250 Ranger and my 1971 F100 Ranger XLT both had the filler necks in the same location, below the bumpside.
Everyone of the factory type auxillary necks I've seen were mounted this way.
The parts catalog refs say the same thing.
I've seen 100's of these trucks since the very day they were first introduced.
Anyone here have a 1967 thru 1969 sales brochure?

This is from a '69 sales brochure. Looks like the cap is above the beltline to me.

It's funny, if you look at that parts diagram Dennis posted above, it clearly shows the Aux filler above the Bump... (part 9080 and fuel cap 9030) All the 67-69's in my area are like that and the 70-72's are below.
Somewhere there must be differant part numbers for the Aux filler tube and the sheetmetal (inside the bed) covers, between these years.
Disscussions are always good when they produce results and everyone can learn (good or bad) or move on.

It's been awhile, but I don't think there was much of a steel cover inside the bed for the 67-69's. I recall you can clearly see the filler tube from inside the bed. I know the 70-72's had a steel cover though and you can't see the filler from inside the bed.

It looks that way to me too.
My apologies...I could have sworn they all below the bump.
From now on, I'll only post in the parts wanted section, since I have several search choices for obsolete parts.
I'll try not to get into any arguments there.

Gunz:
There are quite a few factory brochures at the following link which show the filler tube above the beltline:
