headers
I just picked up a 68 ranger with a 360 in it, It has headers, I am not sure what brand. I want to pull them to replace the gaskets and paint them, Can they be pulled and replaced with out pulling the engine. The truck is a three on the tree. Thanks

re: headers
you probably won't be able to get them all the way out without jacking up the engine.
But you should be able to get new gaskets in with just unbolting the headers.
Try to get them far enough away from the head to be sure the surfaces are clean.

If you repaint them it probably won't take long to burn it all right back off anyways; at least thats always been my experiance. I would just change the gaskets and leave it at that imo! Although, maybe someone here could point you to some header paint that works well...
