where are the updates?!?!?!?! hahaha, man I can't wait for some more pics and work. Let alone, it being finished.
Ford did the same thing with newer ranger frames. Those guys have it easier than us though. Their beams can lay out!

hey Buckinthebowtie, don't mean to insult you in any way, but what magazine are you guys talking about? I'm a mustang guy and have had my '70 bumpside for a little over a year and am just now noticing the trends for these trucks. I love what I'm seeing and hope to one day have the time to put into it.

**Desperate voice** Must get more pics and a new update!
I am curious though, With the 3v having a drive by wire throttle body, what are you gonna do to over come that? Wire harness options, computer tuning, etc... Oh, and thanx for the Nov. '06 postage page article. You guys made my day. Please keep up the posting and updates too. I'm already waiting for next months issue.
Thanx,
Matt

re: CLASSIC TRUCKS MAGAZINE '68 F-100
Hey everyone, sorry for being somewhat absent for the last little while. Life...what can I say? I guess being ULTRA busy beats being bored huh?
Ok, so the truck is coming along nicely. I put he motor and tranny in, but it proved to be a little more involved than I anticipated. I wound up having to make motor mounts from scratch instead of being able to use the stock 05-07 Mustang pieces, they were about 1 3/4" too wide. If I hadn't done the kick up I might have been able to make them work. I'm happy with mine it just took a while longer. See the pic, stock on top mine on bottom.
But anyway, I just got the parts from Mcleod to replace the stock Ford hyd. throwout bearing in the Mustang trans plus all the stuff to mount the clutch master to the firewall-that's what I'll start on today. Plus Mcleod just made(still warm) 2 new street clutches for the 05-07 Mod motors that's supposed to kick butt up to like 600 horses and then up to like 1200 horses.
I turns out that this maybe the first transplant of the 05-07 3-valve motors according to Ford. The electronics for this motor are toatally different from the earlier 2 and 4 valve Mod motors and even Ford Racing's tech team was unsure of how to make it run on its own, but after many months of anxiously waiting they fired up a motor with their proto type harness and are very excited about it as am I! That was the BIG albatross flying over my head!
Even though things have been coming along well, I still gotta get my butt in gear and get this thing done! I got just under 6 months left and plenty of work too do. And yes, John Gilbert at Custom Classic Trucks is "a little" behind to say the least...
Check out the August issue of Classic Trucks if you get a chance!
