the sch40 is being bent up. When I get back to class on monday Ill make the angle iron base so I can finnaly start welding, and making it look like something! That is 1 1/2" sch40... something like 1 7/8" tube. It will hold up very well for my flatbed.

ive been wheeling the 67 a bunch lately and its been running great... for some reason I have been too busy on the f250 to take a break and lock the 9" on the 67. Yesterday when I took it out I was surprised how well it crawled up the steep snow/mud hills. Ill get some wheeling pics.

No carnage yet, except when I was crawing up a hill I hit a ditch at the top and the battery mount broke, caused the battery to fall over and get ripped up by the fan for a couple seconds!!! Luckily it didnt hit any of the cables or terminals. It just scratched one part of it up pretty good.

finished shots. Just going to make up some shock mounts for the rear... and then get to work on the drivetrain.

nice work
one question i have
in regard to the relocation of the rear axle i noticed the shackle mounts welded on and the bolt for the leaf spring does not appear that it can be removed as its blocked by the frame?
maybe bad angle of pic i looked at ?

you can ford a river or stream and get to the other side, if you dodge it you will not, and if you drive a chevy to the levee it will run dry and the music will die.

where the rear part of the leaf connects to the the shackle? To remove that bolt I take out the top shackle bolt and drop the entire thing down.

Well Its finnaly starting to warm up here in IL so im going to get back to work on the 68. Heres what ive been doing latley. Ive finished up the chassis, rebuilt the block (heads are at a shop getting rebuilt) Im ordering top end parts for the engine later this month. I painted the entire chassis with POR15 and its lookin good. Im going to clean up the trans and t-case and then put them in to complete the drivetrain. I still need to make the driveshafts and thats probably what I will work on next.

jeeze its been a while since I updated this thread. But im going at it again!! Got the trans and t-case back in. Im getting my heads back tommorow, so I can assemble the engine. I need to find a manifold for the truck still though :? . Hopefully im picking my cab up VERY soon so I can get down to business. But other than that im happy its starting to look more like something. I start school again in a week so I can work on the front and rear driveshaft and get a complete chassis.
